Pulse Fitness – Imperial College
The project involved the fit out of a new build shell construction to form a new leisure facility on behalf of Imperial College London. The facility is located in North Acton close to the newly built and ever expanding student accommodation campuses.
The facility is for use by both students and private members alike. Over three floors the complex comprises of a two storey entrance foyer, 80 station gym , spin studio, members only studio, college only studio and male, female and disabled change facilities.
All areas including the Gym, Spin Studio and Main Studios are provided with heating and cooling from Heat Pump Air Conditioning units with condensers located on the main roof within the designated plant areas. Ventilation is provided from a central bespoke supply and extract air handling unit incorporating heat recovery and located on the main roof of the development.
Lighting throughout is LED with presence detection provided to changing rooms,. Feature colour change lighting is provided to the Gym Functional Training Rig and Weights Areas.
All services to the Gym floor are exposed.
The fit out scheme was required to achieve a BREEAM Very Good Rating as part of the site wide BREEAM Assessment / Planning requirements.
